Simple way to save environment: using tissue paper

Have you notice that tissue paper consist of two layer? In my country a lot of tissue paper product using that standard. So...because of that I often using them by split the layer into 2 part although i must taken in 1 sheet, the other I keep it for the next use. I'm doing that because I think it can save resources which is the product is from wood and it can save money too.

This picture is taken by my nephew when he visited the museum of train at Ambarawa-Indonesia. He found this interesting sign board with message that it says:
"It takes only one hour...but the memory of your railway mountain tour will last forever."
Me..myself is actually never been to experiencing the tour.
But the interseting is why they specially remind the idea through the sign board.
Well...we have to proove it.

Old PC save my work

Yes...my external dvd-rom without excuse has broken. So the question is...how can i load my cd that contain my data?. Luckily I still have my old PC..and I have USB to IDE ATA cable...but why using CPU power if the cable USB to IDE ATA usually being sell 1 package with the power cable?... another coincident... the power cable is broken too -_-". So.. I guess this is the biggest external CD-ROM that I or anybody else have...lol

Public Facility Treatment

Public facility treatment is hard to maintain in my city. So i really like the situation above on the picture. Although this happen at one of the State University (non private) so it is not related to local government, but because the function is used for public making the owner realize the important of treatment as services for the public. And considering that every person has been taking charge/fee for using/entering the facility. The picture describing several man done their works to treat the site, two of them are watering the plant and run/jogging tracks (so there will be not much dust that can be annoying the user).

What do you think in the picture about?
Yes..that is chilli red pepper. Dried by using sun bathing, prepared for spicy hot snacks in my town. This is the product of one SME in food industry. I have tried the product ones. Wow it is surely hot...but it became favorite popular snack nowadays. This is actually not mine...this photo is taken by my friend who wants to establish the same business, so he is visiting the factory.

This is one of the soccer/football junior club activity in my place. Kids around my neighbour join the club. We can see that not much complete facility for supporting their activity. The field is not in good condition because there is a bald spot not to much grass so technically they are playing in the mud. So are the other equipment. This is unlikely situation because the club isn't going to be the place that produce good quality player. They're just only playing (play in the real meaning). Imagine if one of the kid participant really have a good talent. And because of the situation he will not have a good treatment. And we are going to loose one talented player. This whole thing happen in many places in my country. The lack of support of local government and local football/soccer organization is one of the reason why such situation exist. At least the kid love the game.

Warning Board Sign in the alley

Warning board is used to be really strict and using formal language. But this is different. In one alley near my home they used a funny words.

If we can see on the top left corner of this photo there is a sign board with text: NGEBUT BENJOLL!
The meaning of that words is that if you attempt to accelerate your motorcycle more than the normal speed ethically allowed in the alley than you must be close to getting bruised/bump/lump (it means that really danger to speeding in the alley, you can get accident).
This sign board is in purpose to warn every motorcycle rider to slow down the motorcycle whenever they get crossed the alley.
Ngebut benjoll in Indonesian Language is not formal language...more to funny but still serious.
Other interesting:
We can see a mature lady caring basket full of bottle. The lady is a "JAMU" seller. Jamu is traditional herbal drink from Indonesia.The herbal drink in some cases or formula can cure illness or unhealthy body.

Two goal but one function

Yes these two trash can/basket have a different goal. One for non organic garbage and the other is for organic garbage. But the reason behind the differentiation of this trash can, not so much people really understand. They only know that two things are have the same function which is to dispose or to place our garbage. The enthusiasm to keep clean by placing the garbage into the right place is high as we can see at the picture that both of the trash can is full. But we can see the blue one as for organic garbage, still there is a plastic glass and plastic bag and a drink box inside the blue trash can. It need a little more effort to spread out information about clean environment based on how we treat our garbage start from to explain people to do the right things.

This is the photos from where me as audience to listen the presentation. I did it (taking picture) using my phone camera. Photo no.1 is in the classroom listening lecture subject from my friends presentation and the second one is from my industry visit to Microsoft Indonesia where the presenter presenting about their product. The interesting is we can see the situation from the audience and this is happen relatively in the same month so in the same folder photo collection. I found it interesting that I can see two different situation from audience side.

I just found out the reason why my DSLR camera shutter jammed. It looks like the using period was over. Right now I don't have spare money to fix it. Cause it cost to much for me. Well...I guest I will never use that camera again. So for now on I'm going to use pocket or cellular phone digital camera. But still will capture great moment or scene. Wish me luck :).

This image taken by my friend at the capital city of Indonesia Jakarta. To be exact is he standing at a bridge that connect one side of a highway (one of the main road pf the city, Sudirman street) to another side due to support a transportation facility (trans bus transportation) so the people can easily reach the bus place. As you can see that there is nothing than a bicycle and people who walk that is because that day is the day where no cars (except the bus itself) were allowed due to support environmental restoration day. It is nice to brief the air that is clean. And this scene is rarely taken and quite nice, never thought to be that good. Simple but nice and nice green effort too by the government.

Our country most favorable sport is football/soccer. Love to play and more love to watch the game .This scene is only 1 proof about that .In many country like in European country we often seen this moment at pub or cafe. But in my country where ever there is a TV set especially at outside, they turn on into the channel that provide live game. There are several football club represents the city has their fanatic supporters. The picture that you see unfortunately at city that has a large football club which is PERSIB represents Bandung city. And the location is at motorcycle taxi service, so they aren't queuing for the service but only for the watch the game. Great scene :)

Pedestrian area not for a walk

This is the the think that I'm not like. The interruption of public facility make it not function well. As we can see the pedestrian area/pathway for walking being blocked by cars who parked in the other side (moreover they've already using street space (there is a shop). This scene is much better because we still can walk to pass it. In the other time , the cars could be possible to cover all of pedestrian area so people who wants to walk trough must encircled it.This is a matter of discipline, lack and poor. Both the driver and the parking operator.

House or building mask or case

There is a cellphone case...cpu case...notebook case. Now this is different, a house or building case. Yes it is true..I don't know if this happen at your country...but this is practically new. in my city Avoiding a lot of costs to renovate the house or building cause they rent too, they make a building ornament unit looks like a mask or a case for the house. So the point is they covered the house so it not looks like house anymore but it is just like an office. Nice idea, funny too. We can see the original windows of the house.

This is very nice college classroom condition. You will never find often this kind of class situation or environment in my country. Off course that this is not for degree student. This is for post graduate master program. 1 notebook for each student provided. Air conditioner and nice comfy chair. This is important on marketing. This what it calls differentiation among a lot of college who providing master program and maximize the physical environment for service marketing factor (one of the 7P's marketing factor for service business).

HIgh quality photo for best photoshop work

I often try the photoshop tutorial provided in the internet..using low quality image/photo mostly taken by cellular phone camera..it seems not be good or satisfied result (compare to the example)...one thing for sure that i have been analyze is high quality photo very determine to what the result look like...but I'm glad that a lot of my edited photo are resulting quite nice because I made same improvement or some other technique. So the key is improvement technique. You should try.

Jammed Traffic Light

This is very common situation in my country. Related to public facility maintenance. It took a long time till the traffic light being repaired. It is not about budget, but it is about disciplin that the state employee have. Look at that traffic light. The green and the red light are both on in the same time. It is very dangerous if any person that did'nt know the street situation. Thank Good there is nothing happen with that kind of situataion, at least that i know so far. I believe this is called the jammed traffic light.

Trash picker person works

This person as a trash picker is looking for something valuable to sale (mostly plastic and metal material). He is keep searching in the bright day light. And I believe that the temperature was so hot in that time (it is about in the middle of the day). His eye keep on the ground covered by water hope finding something interesting. This is actually happen on the sewer in the middle of the city. Sometime he use his hand to dig the mud so he can sort the material to find something interesting. Believe me or not that this sewer is streaming through the one of the trading place in my city. So that is why this person took some advantages for something that might the people (since this place a very busy or crowded with activity) who throw something to the sewer.

Right now I'm still using Nikon D70s DSLR photograph camera or with 70-300 AF G Nikkor lens. Really satisfied but I'm not having much more money now to buy a wider lens so it reflects on my photo collection that not much a wide scene or larger view. I'm focusing on detailed object now so I hope it works so well. But if it doesn't maybe a lot of varied angle with do so fine for my collection.

I guess all of the amateur photo editor or digital imaging maker/designer know that it needs a lot of material to build or to make a workpiece (and independent workpiece not commercial use). And the material must be legal too. According to my experiences, there is a lot of source that surely free to use. The design material would be: photo stock, brush, vector, psd, and a lot of Photoshop elements (if you use Photoshop). But there are several disclaimer/agreements/ToS/ToC and mant other terms/condition that the user of all of the material/elements provided freely must be understand and obey to. Several term of agreements:
-Free to use in any occation.
-Free to use in any occation but have to report to the owner or declared the owner on the works.
-Free to use but must have to donate.
-Free to use, but non commercial.
And several others.
So be wise and smart (read first the agreements) if youare going to use any free material for your works.

Diecast Rack or Shelf

When I went to the toys store, I found this interesting rack or shelf that specialized to put their collection of diecast. Why am I so interesting? Because it made by own design and gave the design to the carpenter or furniture maker. The result is so neat and tidy..want it for me to place my own collection. Several material to build that shelf: wood, aluminum, acrylic, wood paint, glass material, and nail. Look how the diecast box (small red color pattern box) or the diecast itself placed in each little compartment.

A qualification for photo editor?

This i wrote because I have several time proposing as photo editor because I really have interest in photo editing. They told me that a photo editor must have a background of designer, since that i have only engineering education background but I increasing my photo editing knowledge through reading and internet browsing looking for tutorials. Could that possibly the main reason (education background) why i am not elected or being chosen as the photo editor? Not because of talented and still growing skill?

If you want to try to edit, retouch or correct your photograph you must seriously handle only one photo software that you most known or easy to use. The reason why I recommend this tips because if you try one technique you will get involves easily with other technique and your skill will improve a lot. I mean in other word I want to say that you must focus to one software deeply rather than using a lot of software but you only kow for each software the easy step. But this will different if you surely have accomplish to handling all the technique and you want to try another software or the another software is just for the helping one cause your main photo software doesn't have the tool that you want.

Trade Center, Sports Venue Corridor

Remember when I posted a corridor of trees? Well now I'm going to show another corridor.
First Corridor: The corridor of pathway consist of rocks ornaments pillar
This is the pathway connecting one sport venue to another venue. I might say that this is natural and very neat indeed.

Second: The corridor of pathway in the trade center, we can see rows of rollingdor which is the cover of the trade place cluster unit.
Still close for now, a lot of trader who already owned the unit hasn't moved yet to this new place of trading. This trade center is smaller than a mall. But very popular among trader or businessman for a small-scale business. We can see that one unit already open the business which is by known that is the place for fixing game console. Other business as well that we can establish in this trade center are trading electronic components, trading electronic equipments, selling automotive spare part, and etc if u wish the things you sell ca give you a lot of profit.

Bandung's Becak

Bandung's Becak

Yes that is one of the reliable public transportation for mostly female adolescence (moms, grandmas, wives, even student) especially when they go to the place which short in distance such as mini market, store, public place, etc. Becak is like ricksaw in Eastern Asia, controlled and powered by human. In several place in my country they have been modified using motorcycle. Other function of becak in my city is to become movable goods vehicle so they are not only treating human. Others as well making becak as trust able services to pick up and deliver the children to school, for this one the parents should be more aware and very cautious to the person who becoming the becak’s driver that provide the service.
Related with the picture shown in this post, I want to tell you that recently they have been made the mini version of becak. Look at that, the photograph each shows you as the senior becak and junior becak, even all the person involve (passenger and driver) represent senior and junior. The mini version I guess it is more like to become fun vehicle rather than functioned well transportation.

In the morning they usually do the exercise just like in the photograph shown. Yes, the acknowledgements about the importance of staying healthy in the old age is increasingly because the socialization through social gathering or media. They usually do this twice or minimum once a week. The group of senior citizen just like in the picture is came from the small society from surrounding nearest neighborhood (formally in Indonesia the society called RW which is the smallest level of government) They have been organized and led by the ones who is representative to be chosen as the leader of the exercise. So they still as a productive citizen even they are in pension time.

The Modern One inside the vintage one.

Bandung is the city which known has a lot of inherit or historical building from the age of struggle for independence against Netherlands civilization. Maybe it is a lot more easier if we try to find what kind of the historical building that Bandung has over the internet. But in this case I want to show you the ornament of the one historical building in my city Bandung. The picture shown in this post is one building ornament from an old historical church building named as “Maranatha”. The ornament is a lamp hood/lamp cap or used to be a lantern???. Anyway the interesting is the use of modern lamp (fluorescent spiral tube lamp) inside the vintage things. Conclusion: You can see that there is still a good combination happen using a modern thing with the old one.

Beggar in The Public Park

This is not a single nation/country problem. Maybe this is the common problem for the whole world. Poverty is something that society must handle with. I just want to show you one of contradictive situation. When the park used to be a comfy safe park and then a beggar claimed the place as his/her living place so the situation became much more difficult for the park visitor and the park authority even for the local government. I tell you something, this picture is taken a long time a go (about two years ago) now the local government has decided to build the gate surrounding the park in order to protect the park from uncommon infiltration. A good solution??

Mobile phone services surely need a lot of infrastructure. Each of provider is on the race to fulfill the coverage area. The photograph shown the several BTS from several mobile phone provider build up in exactly the same one area (differentialized only by building). As one of the main infrastructure, BTS is a must do build to cover the area, providing signal for their users. The problem is if the case like in the photograph, do they have to create their own BTS tower instead to having one suitable tower for all of them so they not sacrificing the beauty of open air. Or it's just a simple rivalry in the world of mobile phone competition to gain a lot of customers?

This is one of the traditional markets owned by local government. The interesting one is that the photo shown the small alley as the entry to the market itself. Yes that is small alley as the only one entrance for the shoppers. The entrance wide is smaller than the signboard.

Parking Man

Unlike in the western country, in my country Parking retribution especially in the public or main street for the frontliner (on the field) held by an operator which is called parking man (person with the yellow suit in my photo). The main functions or the job descriptions for this man are:
1. To arrange the car or motorcycle in the appropriate parking space and
2. To collect the retribution or parking fee directly from the driver.
Parking fee for 1 car for the first 2 hours: 10 to 20 cents depends on location or city.
Parking fee for 1 motorcycle for the first 2 hours: 5 to 10 cents depends on location or city.
Chain flow for the retribution money:
People who used/driver-->Parking Man-->Head of Group or Location-->Local Government Staff who in charge.

City Giant

Again I bring you the image of my city development. The apartment (big building in the photograph) rise in the middle of common house groups. It looks like a Giant compare to surroundings. For certain people to look at this image say that it is a common thing. But I think for Bandung my city it is rather unusual because the city from my opinion suited being called as modern village or small modern city rather than using metropolitan city element (the apartment). Because it used to be a village a long time ago, placed in higher land (approx. 709 meters from sea surface) and surrounded by mountains. But the local government seems to be changing the goal of city development don’t they? Following the modernization? Globalization?

Food Selling Cart

This is the food selling cart of most popular and most favorite snack food for mostly Indonesia People, which is called "Gorengan" or in English we can say Fried Snack. It is being sold using cart just like in the photograph and peddling around the neighborhood or in the public street.
The snack consist of:
-Fried 'banana covered with flour' which is called "Pisang Goreng"
-Fried 'tofu mix with sprout covered with flour' which is called "Tahu Isi Goreng"
-Fried 'fermented soybean cake covered with flour' which is called "Tempe Goreng"
-Fried 'cabbage mix with carrot and flour' which is called "Bakwan Goreng"
-Fried 'cassava' which is called "Singkong Goreng"
and many other kind.
For each kind, if you have 50 cents (us currency) you will get 7 until 9 pieces depending the place where you buy the "Gorengan". Quite delicious food but greasy because of cooking oil.

Tree part 2

Corridor of big trees beautifying the whole form of a street. White stripe in each tree being used as a warning signal indicates that there is a tree in that area. This signal helping for the rider/driver whenever they across the street in the dark night even the street now already equipped with street lamp.

Nice place for jogging isn't it? Would you believe that this place is in the middle of the city? And would you believe that the picture below is in the middle of the city too?

Thank God that no one pass under the tree when the three collapse because of heavy rain combined with strong wind blow.
